Ethel M Chocolate Factory and Cactus Garden

This is a kid's dream come true! Since the Ethel M Chocolate Factory is about 12 miles from Las Vegas and on the way to Hoover Dam, it is frequently included in tours to the dam. Ethel Mars was the mother of Forrest Mars, creator of the Mars bar, M&M's and Milky Way to name a few. Forrest Mars is one of the world's richest men. He has a home in Las Vegas.
Visitors can watch this famous candy being made and, best of all, a free sample comes with the tour.
Outside the factory is a beautiful botanical garden featuring at least one hundred different varieties of cacti.
Self-guided tours are offered daily from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and admission is free. From Las Vegas, drive east on Tropicana Avenue to Mountain Vista. Turn right and drive two miles.
